About Yasmin!

Growing up I was seemingly together on the outside – I was the gold star overachiever and scholarship student, involved at a high level in music, in sport and did well in my academic studies. Inside I was the classic self-sacrificer and people pleaser, constantly putting others’ desires above my own and not being able to articulate my own wants and needs, which led to its own mounting stress.

Letting my guard down and making a change...

I took my stress out on emotional eating and very quickly found myself 30kgs overweight (which is a lot on a less than 5 foot frame). I remember going and ordering quarter pounder burgers from McDonalds and eating them alone in the car.

I was unexpectedly diagnosed with Coeliac Disease in 2013 which had a tremendous impact on my body. I saw and felt for myself the strong link that lies between your physical wellness, your mood, your energy and your overall health.

It was around this time that I also found my love for adventure and being in nature. The energy, confidence, self discovery and self realisation that these moments brought me is second to none,
and they gave me the strength to work through the impact that being sexually assaulted as a young adult was having on me....something I had never spoken about before.

I’ve since cycled across Asia, crossed the Cho La Pass, trekked higher than Everest Base Camp, raced in multiple outdoor adventure races and triathlons, and now have my eyes set on some exciting trail runs in Europe.

On the professional side, I held multiple roles in the high pressured medical device industry, and kept pushing myself to the point of exhaustion. I struggled to set boundaries and kept playing "small" - I felt like I was running on a treadmill and didn't know how to make it stop. However my interest and passion for personal development led me to pursue formal qualifications in personal training, business and personal coaching and become accredited in the delivery of science and psychology based training programs.

Taking others on a journey....

After a successful career of nearly 10 years in the medical device industry, I kept seeing those with an ambitious drive and selfless nature, fall into the same traps as me. My small coaching business was also naturally attracting these clients as well.

Whilst taking a huge leap to move from Australia to France and build my life in Europe with my partner, I knew this was the moment to finally fully align myself to support the community of aspiring leaders and passionate achievers out there. The community that has ambition and drive, but often falls into the traps of overthinking, people pleasing and perfectionism, preventing them from being able to fully step up and thrive.

This is why I founded The Success Adventuress; it's to take aspiring leaders and passionate achievers like you, on a journey of self leadership and development.

Through my programs and work, I support you to level up and reclaim your health, reduce the stress and overwhelm, speak up and lead effectively, and achieve success in your personal and professional life, sustainably.

If you asked me why I transitioned from a successful

corporate career to personal development industry:

Self-comparison and the competitive world we live in is making us busier, more stressed and less happy. Finding the balance between wanting to achieve, whilst making time for the moments that matter is harder to implement than we think.

Academic studies don’t teach us how to manage stress, overcome our negative thinking traps and lack of confidence which spread their fingers into our personal and professional lives, eating away at our health, relationships, and overall happiness.

There is a plethora of information out there on nutrition, exercise and overall wellness. However what works for one person doesn’t work for the other. It's time to promote doing what actually works for you rather than throwing money and energy at the latest fad.
